Workplace Description
Are you ready for a bigger challenge? We are now looking for an engaged and driven security officer for the Security Department in the North. Your work is a prerequisite for the Police Authority to conduct an offensive crime-fighting effort. With us, you will develop and gain experiences for life together with engaged and friendly colleagues.
The Security Department consists of 11 organizational units for security work in police regions, the national departments, and a secretariat. The Security Department is responsible for the Police Authority's operational protection and security protection. In addition, the Security Department handles cases that involve the protection of physical premises, employees, handling of security checks, and security matters during employment and assignments, as well as the protection of information.
We are now looking for a security officer for the Security Department in Police Region North. The placement location is to be agreed upon at one of the main locations within the region - Östersund, Sundsvall, Umeå, or Luleå.
Job Description
We are now looking for a security officer focusing on personnel security, employee protection, and security checks. As a security officer, you will primarily work with security checks and security and operational protection matters at the regional level. You will also drive personnel security and employee protection cases as needed. The assignment also includes providing support, advice, and being a requirement setter in matters concerning these areas.
The work includes a significant amount of administrative tasks. You may also need to handle our other areas during others' absence, for example, issues related to physical security and security protection. The position is led by a regional security manager.

- Represent the Security Department within the police region
- Participate in national projects within the Police Authority
- Provide internal training on security issues
- Educate and create understanding of the police's security work at various levels.
Travel may occur in the position.
Qualifications
- This is an opportunity for you who have: Work experience from a government agency regarding administration/handling or coordinating assignments that the employer deems relevant
- Police degree or academic education in a relevant field that the employer deems relevant, or current proven experience in a relevant field that the employer deems relevant
- Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish, as the work requires you to draft official decisions and documents
- Good computer skills, for example, within the Office suite
- Driving license B as travel occurs in the position
- Swedish citizenship
It is advantageous if you also have:
- Documented experience of security-related work that the employer deems relevant.
- Worked with security issues based on the Security Protection Act
- Training and/or knowledge of laws and regulations governing the security protection area
- Experience in investigating security deficiencies, vulnerabilities, and risk behaviors among staff
- Experience in physical security
- Documented experience of employee protection
- Experience in handling and exercising authority
Personal Qualities
To thrive in the role, you need to understand the security role and have a strong interest and willingness to learn about the area of responsibility. You should be independent with a good ability to interpret, evaluate, and manage complex and sensitive information and be able to make selections and priorities based on that.
You are meticulous with high integrity, confident in yourself, and trust your own ability to make assessments, drive processes, and take initiatives. You have the ability to switch between tempos to solve the department's tasks.
As the role involves many contact points, we see it as a given that you have very good communication skills.
We will place great emphasis on personal qualities.
